We love because it's the only true adventure. - Nikki Giovanni
You’re getting married – congratulations!
Every bride and groom wants their ceremony to be meaningful and memorable. Your wedding ceremony is arguably the most important part of your wedding. Whether you’re blushing first-timers on your maiden voyage down the aisle, or you’ve been here before and know what you’re after, I’m here to guide you down the blossom-strewn path to marital bliss… Jessie x
Have to believe we are magic…
Most of all, you want your wedding to be memorable for all the right reasons. You want it to sparkle with magic, power and meaning. You want your assembled loved ones to feel the words, be wrapped up in the moment, smile and cry in turn.
I want to deliver to you a warm, charming, fuss-free ceremony – with your own stamp firmly upon it. And to make it one less thing to worry about on that big, busy day.
I am confident that I can take you, step-by-step, through this exciting, tender and serious time in your life. My clients warm to my relaxed and friendly manner.
I will design a ceremony especially written for you. You may want your ceremony to include friends, family, or children. Together we can design a unique celebration.
How it works
We will organise a time to meet. I will ask you to fill in a questionnaire to help me learn more about you, the things in life you value most and the way you like to present yourselves.
I will craft a ceremony that is 100% adapted to your tastes and circumstances. I will give you a script of the ceremony well in advance of the big day, and you’ll have plenty of time to request changes and suggest additions. You are in effect, steering your own ritual with as much hands-on control as you need.
On the day, I’ll deliver with the kind of ambience that we’ve agreed in advance – bright and breezy; elegantly understated; or fancy dress carnivale if that’s your thing!
Overseas Visitors
If you want to get married in Sydney but you’re not presently living in Australia, I can organise all your legal paperwork, suggest venues and other providers of wedding services.
Sydney offers a stunning array of potential wedding locations for the overseas visitor – there’s our glorious harbour with a choice of picturesque beaches; lush parks and historic sites, elegant restaurants, purpose-built function rooms and other, quirkier locations if that’s your desire.
Formalities
I will help you with all the legal requirements and will complete all the necessary paperwork to perform your marriage. Here’s a brief rundown, so you know what to expect. You need to lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one calendar month and one day prior to the date of your wedding. There are few and strict exceptions to this and a shortening of time can only be granted by the Court Registrar or appropriate authority. You can lodge it up to 18 months in advance if you wish.
In Australia, you need to be over 18 years of age to marry. If you were born in Australia you need to show your birth certificate, and if born overseas, then your birth certificate or passport from your country of birth. If either you or your have been married before you must provide your Divorce Decree Absolue papers, or the Death Certificate of a previous spouse.
On your wedding day you will need two witnesses over the age of 18. If you are bringing a partner into Australia on a prospective spouse visa, I can provide the necessary information.
